Hi everyone, I'm currently 5-0 in my home league and have been offered Ajayi and Watkins for Devante Adams and Jerrick McKinnon.
My team is
Ajayi would be my flex, given the strength of my team I could risk him taking another couple of weeks to get right but I just don't know if it's worth it. Adams has been great so far and McKinnon could prove to have RB2 value if Monday is anything to go by.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this is a fantasy first world problem. u can do this trade or not and run the table...lol. howd u get this team...
i guess id want to put in some backup plans for ur horses faltering down stretch. suspensions injuries etc. id do this trade...ajayi is probably enough of an upgrade over Jerick to justify the risk of watkins who has major upside if they get him involved. ur a little short at wr if u typically start 3 of em...but maybe u can then do a second trade of breida for corey davis or something

Yeah, we start 3 WRs and it's .5PPR...
I'm leaning towards accepting I think, Watkins would be my WR5 so I'm in no rush to get him into my line-up plus if he does get it together down the stretch they have a pretty favourable schedule for WRs during the playoffs.
Although Ajayi has struggled thus far he's still going to be force fed touches and you'd figure positive regression is due at some point.
I like the Corey Davis idea too man, was thinking of trying to buy low on Cooper as well...

yeah....rotoworld had jay train 17th overall for ROS last week. and adams like 39th. watskins in late 60's early 70's. so i think watkins forecast will go up. and even if jay's go down u figure cobb, martellus the rb's eat into adams' redzone work a little...go for it then focus on cooper davis etc. ajayi is a big name. one big game and maybe u can flip him for more

I probably would hold Adams. I like all the players involved here, but I think Adams will be worth more than Sammy, even if Sammy turns things around, just because in almost any scenario the Rams don't want to load just one guy with targets, and they'll get Gurley involved heavily near the end zone. Adams is going to have a 65-70% chance to score a TD every week. And if Jordy gets banged up any more, he could be a top 5 WR.
And since you don't NEED to add a RB, I don't mind Jerick as the reserve. In ppr it would be closer, but with both of the MIA and MIN offenses looking shaky, I don't know that they are all that different in value. Since you're rolling already, I would probably stick with the safest player in Adams. I wouldn't mind flipping Jerick straight up for Sammy though.

There u hve it. I'd defer to DMCI on this

Thanks a lot for such a detailed response. I think because I like all of the players involved I'm finding it hard to come to a decision one way or the other. I think it sounds nice to have Zeke, Fournette and Ajayi but to this point Adams has been outscoring Ajayi.
Given the players I have on my roster, who if anyone would you suggest trying to offer to the Cooper owner in my league?

As @JollyG804 said, there's good reasons for and against this trade. What I think it probably comes down to is that, as Shawn Siegele is always saying, RBs are basically always overpriced for how much they actually score. The problem is you still need to have good ones somehow at the end of the day. But in this scenario, you're already loaded, so buying more at the cost of WRs is probably a net negative.
It's stil tempting. I've definitely been guilty of having teams that go roaring out of the gate, and wanting to keep trading up pieces so that you have like all these guys that were preseason 2nd rounders. The anchoring effect of draft day prices is really strong. But probably more often than not the pieces you give up are now more valuable . . . which is why the other person accepts the offer.
Why not try to flip Funchess for Cooper? He's having a great season, but Kelvin, CMC, Stew, Cam and maybe Dickson and Samuel, etc., are going to get some TDs too. It's worrisome if there's something actually wrong with Coop, but I think you can afford to find out. You can always start Engram in the flex too if need be.

im sold...look to make a smaller trade for a known minor gain than a big gamble when u have a nice lead. like when McCarthy went for it in the first half against the giants in the playoffs last year or the eagles against the giants in week 3? ur playing with a cushion here and thats a great great point about the anchoring effect.
i think i read that effect makes isralie judges more likely to put people away in jail for more years. its powerful. cutler may not be good emough to get jay where even tannehill got him last year.
also im no scout but i was mesmerized by the rodgers adams chemistry/consistency vs dallas. maybe the jordy isnt 100% thing wont change

I'm thinking of making the Funchess for Cooper offer in my PPR league. I was wondering if I should throw In a D Foreman kicker or ship off one of my lesser WRs like Juju or Marvin Jones if he wants more.
#11 By: devinmci, October 11th, 2017 23:14
@Will Sure. I mean those three guys are probably bouncing back and forth from the wire in most redraft leagues.
#12 By: Dennis, October 12th, 2017 00:40
yeah, if i had my preference id keep foreman 1, marvin 2 and juju 3. but id do those for the upside of coop restoring form
i just traded away Kamara and Garcon for J. Howard, Cooper, and Russel wilson. what do you guys think @Will @devinmci? full ppr
im thinking of maybe flipping jordan after his next big game too upgrade further at wr if doable...i had one of those late round drafts and ended up with gronk and michael thomas and Reed then traded gronk for jordy...diggs, jarvis.

@JollyG804 I love how frequently you are getting trades done. How many leagues are you playing in?! That's a sweet trade if you've ended up with Howard, Russell and Cooper for those 2.
Who are you targeting in the mooted J. Howard flip?
#14 By: devinmci, October 12th, 2017 11:51
@JollyG804 I think Kamara and Howard are pretty close. Garcon and Cooper are also reasonably close. And Russell Wilson we know has overall QB1 potential. So it's a nice deal if you were struggling at QB especially. Cooper and Howard are both probably the higher upside players, although people were writing Benny Cunningham off, and I think he's shown that when healthy he's going to be there. So Howard would need Benny and Tarik to both get hurt to really capitalize on the full backfield. If Ingram gets hurt, Kamara could have some big games short term, but I think the Saints would add someone--don't think they would be comfortable with him getting 80+% of the work as a rookie.

So little update, done nothing with the Ajayi trade as yet. Managed to get Cooper, flipped Engram/Breida for him (TE needy team).
Does the news about Zeke's suspension being upheld change how you think I should approach the Ajayi offer?
My team is
Now do I risk weakening myself at WR (Adams) and losing one of the guys who could potentially step in for Zeke (McKinnon) or with me losing Zeke should I take the risk on Ajayi and can I now afford to trade Adams now I've managed to get Coop and would also receive Sammy with Ajayi, which would help replenish my WR depth...
#16 By: devinmci, October 12th, 2017 17:40
I think I would just hold on. There's probably better than 50% chance that Zeke gets a new injunction ASAP and doesn't miss time. If he does miss, you already have DMC, Morris lined up. Also, If he gets suspended, you might even be able to trade whoever is named the starter for Ajayi straight up.
Anyway, with Diggs banged up, I think I would rather be able to roll with AB/Allen/Adams until further notice.
#17 By: Dennis, October 12th, 2017 17:50
agree here....since u have the insurance duo of alfred and darren u can hold tite. nice grab on cooper for very little cost to you.
#18 By: Zakk Stevens, October 12th, 2017 17:51
I think being 5-0 gives me the cusion to not rush anything. Between Fournette and McKinnon/whoever the Cowboys play at RB I think I should be able to manage until Zeke gets back. That's also a great point about potentially flipping the new Cowboys starter (If it gets to that stage) for Ajayi straight up.
Yeah, I'm a little worried about Diggs. The injury doesn't seem super serious but his production has suffered massively when he plays hurt. I think I am going to play Funchess tonight at FLEX and then decide on Sunday whether to risk Diggs or play Adams. Usually I play AB, Diggs and Allen at WR with Adams at FLEX but if I wait until Sunday and Diggs is ruled out I'll be forced into playing Cooper (with Funchess playing tonight). Given Funchess' matchup and relative hot streak I think it makes sense. Would you agree?
