Trying to make a playoff push,
I have OBJ and Diggs in a 10 team standard ppr.
I have DJ Moore, Tre'Quan stashed so to speak.
Would Dez make Tre'quan insignificant and if NO like him so much why are they working out Dez/Marshall/Aiken?

Because they have no depth outside of MT and Tre’Quan. I dropped Tre’Quan though - he’ll still likely have a blow up game or 2, but I probably wouldn’t be able to predict it. I’m stashing Moore over Tre’Quan personally

To be honest I don't understand the move. Dez and Tre'quan have fairly different roles so I don't think either replaces the other although target dilution is likely.
From a football point of view, is Dez hoping to get okaying time? I don't think Dez would join if it is just a depth move.
If not, what is his role? I could see him playing a Larry Fitz big slot role, but Mike Thomas is already good at that. I don't think they need another red zone threat, because any pass going to him in the EZ over MT or Kamara is probably a downgrade.
Anyone with insight on what the two parties are trying to get out if the deal, lmk.

@Differentone @FantasyNerd @Bobkjun I'm a Cowboys fan, so probs biased, but think adding Dez is a pointless move. He looked done last year and arguably even the year before. He's been picked up in my PPR league but I wouldn't have had any interest anyway.
You can argue that it's just the Saints trying to win now and load up for the playoffs. But I don't see how and why they need him. He certainly shouldn't take anything away from Tre'Quan in my mind. He's not a deep threat and Smith doesn't have much target share to lose at the moment.
Agree that they don't need to use him in the redzone when they have MT, Kamara (and Ingram to punch them in if they choose).

@Will I certainly agree, but Smith has been getting so few targets per game that it’s concerning. If Merideth had been getting just a few targets per game I don’t think Smith is rosterable.
I will say though, I love Smith long term if you can get him in dynasty. I also see how on nearly all of my redraft teams next year. This year though I’d pump the breaks a little

Cameron Meredith just placed on IR for knee surgery. I would imagine its a need for depth.

Well Dez is a bust, I picked Tre'quan back off waivers because Meredith is gone. Wait and see

Luckily I held onto Tre'quan for the 24 hours that it looked like his value was cratering. Cameron Merideth going on IR doesn't seem to matter, but there was risk that he was going to get healthy. Now that is gone, I'm hopeful for Tre'quan.

I'm just glad I kept Tre'quan on my bench yest. I didn't need much to win, but a zero wouldn't have helped.
I said my piece on Dez above. Not sure he'd have had much value even if he had stayed healthy and involved. To my mind, there was a reason why he was a free agent from March until now.
