I'm with Hostage here....keep your pick. To your point, you can win with Tanny if your team is sufficiently strong. Maybe pick up a cheap streaming option to compliment him.

I'm leaning that way too. It's just, harder than it sounds to pick up a streaming option (in this league, anyways) and I love Crowell. But yea, leaning towards keeping the premium asset. Thanks for your thoughts guys.
(No way he deals Crow for the 2.04 but I will certainly try! The other option is to just grab Phil Rivers for that pick kinda thing)

I actually like your original idea of trading for Hoyer for a 4th rounder and streaming. laugh all the way to the bank when you pick up, let's say Mixon, and he becomes a high RB2 this year, and you stream Tannehill and Hoyer. I think shannehan is pretty good at maximizing his assets and using them the way that makes them the most successful. so is Hoyer gonna be a QB1? no. is tannehill? probably not. but you can probably limp through with them and do fine.
I can't help but get enamored with the sexy QB names too (having tried unsuccessfully for years to trade for Luck), but I think what you lose in the QB dept you more than make up for with deep depth in other areas. it's a good but frustrating problem to have when you have 4 starting WR and RBs and are having to guess which ones to bench. but a lot better than saying 'well, I've only got 2, so hopefully goes wrong.' Who knows if Cam Newton will be able to start the year, so you could probably even add Derek Anderson who will dump off to mccaffrey or Samuel until Cam is healthy again. or draft tom savage, Watson, or Brock lobster. they're starter-ish....that is usually enough to at least keep pace, and maybe stumble into a QB1 week here and there.

Your first paragraph is pretty much exactly my thinking (except Hoyer is a FA so I'm hoping he falls to 4.04).
But your second paragraph is what I want to avoid. This team should be in "go for it" mode this year (so many guys who are old or could lose value in a year or two: Ajayi, Howard, CJA, Bilal, Dez, Garcon, Maclin, Gronk, Watt) and I don't want to scuttle what could otherwise be a championship season with shitty QB play.

Tyrell Williams or 21st Rookie pick?
#47 By: Hostage, May 12th, 2017 08:14
Tyrell. it's closer than I would think, but he's proven he can produce, unless there is a late 2nd round sleeper you really like. a lot of mouths to feed in...ugh, LA, which could knock his value down a bit.
#48 By: jesseross99, May 12th, 2017 09:19
I'm just thinking 2018 when Tyrell is a UFA. Dude is a sick athlete and had great PFF grades.

I would probably trade the 1.04 for Crowell straight up, so I would definitely do this.
#50 By: jesseross99, May 12th, 2017 19:29
Oh man someone even higher on Crowell than me. @devinmci for real though? Sell me on it.
#51 By: Adam Eraky, May 12th, 2017 21:52
On value alone, pick 4 is worth far more than Crowell, for what its worth.
#52 By: jesseross99, May 13th, 2017 15:40
Ended up keeping the pick and taking McCaffrey, then sent a 2018 1st and Trey Burton for Crowell. Pretty stoked

Have the 1.02, looks like 1.01 likely takes Fournette.
What RBs or WRs would Rotovizers consider straight up for the 1.02?
Maybe Doug Baldwin or Diggs? D. Murray or L. Miller on the RB Side?
#54 By: Hostage, May 13th, 2017 19:01
damn, I wish I could sell Murray or Miller for the 1.02. I think you're selling yourself short. I'd ask yourself what you would Amari cooper or zeke for if you could go back in time and use that as a basis. those were each probably the 1.01, but not THAT far off. If you want to trade out, I would trade down to the 1.04 or 1.05 and get another piece.
@jesseross99 nice. I like that move. I actually sent out a trade offer for Crowell after you sold me on him.
#55 By: devinmci, May 14th, 2017 01:22
Both good deals. I wouldn't have expected McCaffrey at 1.04 and you can justify taking him over Crowell.
Still, the big knock on Crowell vs McCaffrey is that CM has PPR upside that Crow doesn't. But Crowell just caught 40 passes last season, and the entire CAR backfield caught 44. McCaffrey's role is still unknown. He could get zero goalline work and <50% snaps in year one. His durability is unknown, whereas Crow has played in 48 straight games. Crow is only 24, so he could just as easily play more career games going forward than CM. I have CM at 1.02, but we just don't know what he'll end up doing. Jahvid Best, Steve Slaton, David Wilson . . . there is a long list of guys that should've been phenomenal pros who got derailed.
#56 By: Adam Eraky, May 14th, 2017 16:50
I would just take Corey Davis and laugh at the guy who took a 2 down RB over him.
#57 By: Geoff Hendricks, May 14th, 2017 17:16
Exactly what i did.
Mixon fell to 1.06. Tried to buy 1.04 and 1.05 but no luck and 1.06 snagged him.
Offered up Moncrief straight up for Mixon, thoughts?
#58 By: Hostage, May 14th, 2017 18:48
I like the offer for you, if I was him, I would probably turn it down, just on the prospect of Mixon being a stud.
I think I would sweeten the offer a little bit if it's rejected, since moncrief is probably gonna be worth less at this time next year, if you believe that the TD regression is coming. I'd try to sell him/her on Luck being healthy, and moncrief's 'breakout year' coming. even though I'm not sure it will happen.

Recently traded during a rookie draft in a 12 team 1QB PPR league:
Eli Rogers (WR PIT) & Lance Kenricks (TE GBP)
-for-
Jason Witten (TE DAL) & the 4.08 ("drafted" waiver FA Lance Dunbar (RB LAR))
My reasoning was that my TEs are bad (Walford, Kendricks, Barnidge) and while I had drafted Bucky Hodges (3.06) I needed to buy some time cheaply. Rogers was a ww pickup last year and will likely take a step back with Martavis returning & Juju joining the Steelers.
As for Dunbar, I have DJ and a bunch of fill-ins at the #2 RB but I wanted to jump the line on free agency bidding with Dunbar (#2 on the depth chart behind Gurley and the likely "Chris Thompson" in McVay's offense)
Is it the injury that is scaring people away? Not sure why Dunbar isn't getting more love this offseason ...
#60 By: jesseross99, May 15th, 2017 11:01
@devinmci that's basically my thinking too. I regretted taking CMC over Crow almost immediately. Now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have just taken the deal of Crow, Tyrod and 2.07 (instead, I ended up burning the 2.04 on Big Ben and a late pick). Ohwell - I got my guys. Damn drafting is fun.
#61 By: devinmci, May 15th, 2017 16:23
Hey, if Crow was available for a 2018 1st, then you made the right choice. Anyway, it's not like there isn't plenty of risk surrounding Tyrod and Crowell's future's. But at those prices--1.04 for CMC and a 2018 1st for Crowell--I'd be pretty pleased.
