Every once in a while, I am unable to load a drafted player. No matter what I try, for example, I cannot get Chris Carson to be drafted. So I have to either start over or deal with the fact that all of the recomendations will be skewed by the fact that Carson will remain available for the duration of the draft. I have now used it for two live drafts, and have not made it past the 6th round before this problem has happened. huge waste of my time fighting this.
Really disappointed. It operates way too slow for use in a fast draft anyway.

I liked it in theory but found it a bit intimidating to actually implement

Hey @aislan, I'm sorry to hear you've had problems. I've used it many times without any incident and almost of our responses from users have been very enthusiastic. Live drafts are the formats where I find it the most fun to use. Are you using the late download when you draft?
I'm sure @dcaban can offer help as well if you message him directly.

You are saying I should message @dcaban via twitter? Or is there some other way via the site to message him directly? Won't he just see this post?
I am going to try using a different laptop since I have to reload each pick a second time anyway. I'm surprised to see the positive feedback. Even on the second laptop, it screws up and drafts Todd Gurley for a second time occasionally when definitely have the correct player in the window. Once I notice it, I hit undo to undraft Gurley. This happens ever round or so.

Yeah, I was saying you could send him a private message here, go into your issue in detail.
@dcaban has build a tremendous tool with a ton of flexibility and functionality, and he's been very active in working with users on any issues, he has new updates all the time, that kind of thing.
And people have loved it. And when they don't, Dave wants to fix it.
So it's a more-flies-with-honey-than-vinegar kind of thing.

I actually had the same thing occur to me during my main draft. I had to pick some scrub to assign to the team and then know that i had a couple of players that kept showing that were already drafted. The fist occurrence was during the 4th round. Some guy drafted Josh Gordon but i couldn't find him on my list (even after doing a search). So I had to assign that team a scrub to keep going.
I really like the tool and I can get around that quirk but it's good to know i'm not the only one.

On some level, I now feel obligated to share some of the feedback we have received so here are two screenshots of emails I've received throughout the summer:
With that out of the way, I'd be curious to hear more about the issues. What versions of Excel were being used, Windows or Mac, versions of the Dashboard etc.? Were a significant number of other programs or spreadsheets open, after the issue arose, did you quit Excel, restart your computer, and then try things again and the issue still occurred? For anyone reading, though that may seem silly, it often makes a difference
For indicating selected players as drafted, were you clicking on their name as displayed in cells or using the name search function?
I've used variants of this version of Dashboard for around 10 drafts per season, for a good four years running and haven't encountered issues like this and this also the first I've heard of anything like this after having thousands of users draft with it for multiple seasons. Not saying that these issues didn't arise, but it's helpful to learn more about them when they do so that I can work toward correcting. I did extensive testing this year leading up to release using Excel 2016/365/2010 on three Windows-based laptops ranging in years used from three to five years, as well as with a newer Mac running Excel 2016. So it's helpful to get a sense of the environments the issues are occurring in and more details as this will help me in fixing them. In relation to the speed of picks, in general, after a player is indicated as drafted, there are 1.5 seconds of processing that occur. On my "worst" laptop, it takes approximately 3.0 seconds and I've always found this sufficient for keeping up with the draft.
@Grimlock When you couldn't find Gordon, was he not showing in the Available Players listing for WR? Also, did you use the up/down button to essentially scroll through the list? Do you remember what ADP source you were using and if you had the listing sorted by "tier" or "ADP"? I'm wondering if it could have had to do with the source ADP. Thanks!

I was using Excel 2013 on Microsoft Laptop. I only know to enter players by typing in name next to draft button and selecting from pull down.
I saved file and switched computers to one that was using Excel 2010, but encountered a similar issue so I scrapped that file and re-downloaded and re-entered all of the players again. I still encounter occasional issues with the software redrafting Todd Gurley after I've already selected a different player. It's somehow defaulting to Gurley on occasion. So far I've been able to back it up and re-enter unlike before, but it's already happened 3 times in 7 rounds. Would never have time to do it this way on a live draft. One mistake like that and you would never be able to catch up.
I also encountered a new problem, but i'll start a new thread for that.
I should add that I am a daily user of excel for my job. I hope you don't think testimonials will influence my spreadsheet to start working better. Only solving the actually problem will do so.

Let's keep all of these here.
Dave will respond to that as well.

Hi @aislan Thanks for the information. I'd highly recommend reading through the guide and watching the tutorials. There's probably some useful tips in there. I'd recommend indicating players as drafted by finding their name in the available players listing or listing of ADP in View 3, clicking on their name and then pressing the draft button in the top-right of the screen. This is my preferred method. I'm at work, so I couldn't narrate, but here's a link to a video below that shows how to use the name search function and how to use the draft button.
*If you hover over the video you can adjust the quality.
In the beginning, I click in the name search tab, and begin to search for Josh Gordon. When a match appears I click on Gordon, making sure that I see his name get highlighted, and then press the "<-- Draft" button. In the second example, I use the Available Players listing to find Josh Gordon, click on his name and then press the "Draft Button" in the upper-right.
Todd Gurley is the first player listed in the drop-down. So I'm not sure if you could possibly be clicking into the drop down and clicking on Gurley and not realizing it occasionally? The other possibility would be that a cell containing his name is selected, and then you're pressing the "Draft" button in the upper-right hand. I'm assuming it's not either of these but I figured I would float them out there. I've spent some time trying to recreate what you're seeing but haven't been able to do so. The other thought that I have is you could be clicking into the drop-down first. The correct process is to click into the name search box, and then begin typing.
Let me know if these suggestions help. If you have anyway of taking a screen recording that shows what's happening when the issue occurs I could also take a look at it. In regard to your other issue, could you please email me a version of the file saved with the error so that I can take a look at it? RotoVizexcel@gmail.com

Sorry to reply so late to this. But, yes, he was not showing on the Available players list and i used the up/down as well. I would have thought doing a search would find him but even that didn't work. I was using the "Tier" view.
I actually used the app again for another draft and it just, in essence, stopped working around round 5 I think. I would select a player to assign to a team but it wouldn't do anything. I saved the file, i tried undo and then doing it again but it just wouldn't assign the player. I think i still have that file saved. If you want, I can send it to you. I think that computer had Excel 2013

Hi @Grimlock no worries on the late response. If you still have the file saved, I'd love to take a look at it. Could you send to email@example.com? Thanks!

I'll find it and send it over. thanks!
