@hrr5010 @hba24 @FF_Contrarian
I wanted to share the keepers ahead of my draft tonight. I've done half a mock and will post the results once I get home later. I'm drafting out of the 8th slot and my keepers are Funchess, Marvin Jones and JuJu from RDs 1-12. As you can see below, a few elite RBs are locked down already (Gurley, DJ, Kamara, Freeman). Full PPR with two flex allowing me to start up to 5 WRs weekly.
I'm torn between a Zero RB approach- i.e. really frontloading on WRs and then getting my main RBs from RD 4 onwards. Alternatively, I do as Hasan prev suggested and get my RB1 (Saquon, Melvin Gordon, Hunt) with the 8th pick and then take either an elite WR or Gronk in RD2.
Be great to hear what any of the community think today- these boards are the best @JollyG804 @Badger

Since you have some good WR choices in the round 4-8 range already on your team, it might be a good time to stock up on RBs at this time in the draft, since theres not the usual opportunity cost of doing so. in which case, if you can get 2 studs in rounds 1 and 2 at WR id probably look to do that since u can start so many wrs. picking from the 8th i once got Hopkins and then keenan allen.
then in the 3rd u could have a tough pick of TEs, RBs, and and hope cooper, landry is still around. before really hammering zero rb guys like royce, tevin, kerryon, Cohen, Jamaal williams, Aaron jones, burkhead/michel, rounds 4-8.
that would probably be my preference since i like having the dramatic changes that happen during a year work for me rather than against. embrace the chaos. and you'll have some nice trade bait as soon as ur draft is over since players like jones, funchess are probably being drafted higher than we think they'll perform. id happily deal one of them for value in that draft slot

I agree almost completely with @JollyG804. The only thing I'd add is that because you don't have picks in Rounds 10-12, where I'd start looking at QB, it might be worth your while to grab an elite QB in the rounds where you would have taken JuJu, Marvin, or Funchess. Just a thought. An elite TE in the early rounds is attractive too.

Using the ave ADP on the draft dashboard you should have some of the following options based on where you are drafting. I tend to use projections but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be available this year so I'm winging it a bit. With 2 flex, I think you need to wait on QB unless this is superflex.
I still believe RBs with their higher upside are tough to pass up, but in PPR, going WR isn't as much as a disadvantage.
1st rnd Avail. Gordon, Fournette, possibly Julio and likely Keenen
2nd: Puts you right at Gronk and McKinnon, Tyreek and Cooper. I might look down to Fitz or Landry because they are likely gone by your 3rd
3rd: Golden Tate, R. Freeman, Penny, Some player who fell slightly
4rth: Sony Michel or Lamar Miller, T. Colemen . For WR, Crabtree or Fuller
5th: Goodwin, Burkhead, Walker at TE
6th: Sanders, Cobb, Anderson
7th: Njoku , Doyle, Benjamin
8th: Stills, Lee Perhaps QB with Carr, Smith
9th: WR heavy Gallup, Gollada, Bryant, Locakett
10th: Godwin, Matthews (if healthy), L. Murray
At this point, you will know what positions you need to add depth so fill accordingly

thanks, guys. I really appreciate the advice.
@JollyG804 While I love an elite WR like the next guy, I confess to being quite tempted to trying to get Saquon/Gordon in 1st. Then the best available WR in 2nd and see who's around in 3rd onwards.
@hba24 Good point and something I was considering earlier. Worth reaching for someone I want (like Mahomes) in the 9th in that case? On elite TEs, I'm sorely tempted to try to grab Gronk in 2nd. Ertz is a keeper and unsure about Kelce.
@Badger it's not superflex so will likely get my QB in 13th (unless I go earlier in the 9th before my 3 keeper WRs). I suspect that with the amount of RBs kept that the rest of my league will be hammering WRs early. Some great options in the list you made above. How do you like my chances of nabbing ARob in 3rd instead of Penny, Tate or Royce?

Here are my mock results, with me drafting from 8th pick with the league set to RB-heavy.
Reasonably happy with this, but think based on the advice above I'll more likely start with a WR-TE or RB-WR combo in the real one tonight.

Mixon so high! gurley always goes in the 4th lately

Heres what I've ended up with. Keepers were in Rd 10-12 for me. I'm dropping Grant to pick up the DET or WAS D/St for this wknd.
Happy with all but the reach for Rodgers in 3rd and failure to get Tevin Coleman. Took Kerryon that round.
Welcome the helpful thoughts of @hrr5010 @hba 24 @FF_Contrarian @jollyg804 @badger and others on what I can do from here.
Have thrown out a few trade feelers already, esp to guys who have lost Lee (as I have Cole) or who have surfeit of WRs and lots of RBs

Yeah, that looks great other than the Rodgers selection. But he should provide an advantage at that position as well, so there are worse mistakes to make.
#11 By: Dennis, September 4th, 2018 12:33
I like your team! If i was the owner, I would look to package maybe two of Marvin Jones, Chris Thompson, Sony, Njoku for another WR like a Fuller or R. Anderson first.
Id also shop Aaron + Marvin together to see if I could get a higher profile WR to relegate Funchess to bench as depth. I wonder if Aaron and Marvin could get u thielen, diggs, or landry etc.
#12 By: William Russell, September 5th, 2018 23:47
@jollyg804 isn't that kind of a high price to pay to get one of those WRs? Thielen is a keeper so can't be traded for IMHO. I would be without a QB temporarily and are Diggs and Landry all that much of an upgrade on JuJu (my putative WR3)? Funchess, Marvin et al are really my flex guys.
I'm more keen to try and turn my WR depth and two TE into a better lead RB. Put some feelers out to the Cook owner and he wants to wait and see the first few weeks. I'm hoping that Latavius gets more action that people think to help make this happen.
#13 By: Dennis, September 6th, 2018 00:05
maybe yeah, but thats how i like to build my teams. Ive heard Shawn explain how he errs on the side of more WR firepower when trading so I implemented that and its really paid off on average across my teams. it may not work in one trade but the more i do it over ~10 teams the more it pays off.
marvin jones i suspect will lose value as the year marches on and tate, riddick, galloday, kerryon, roberts or wilson could even cut in with Stafford and Kerryon being seemingly the best way to play the situation to me, based on the cheap cheap price. its not that youre wrong, as Cook is a great bet. but its the combo, IMHO of the price you have to pay to get a stud T2 RB, and their risk. it wasnt a given that he was going to even play week 1. if u can get him go for it but he'll prob be very expensive, whereas jarvis or even cheaper robby A, fuller, may not be but both could easily dominate their team in targets
as for JuJu, i sort of defer to the expert rankings. he's very high up in the dynasty ranks but just a tier below jarvis and landry, both likely no. 1s in their offense. but hes a great guy to have if a trade isnt easy to come by.
-id be excited to shop Jones and Aaron but thats more my roster style than an indictment on them obvi both taltented guys. (edit: youre right that Jones and sony would be pricey, but id happily do jones and Njoku for Fuller).

Chubb & RoJo were both dropped in this league. Feels like a great opportunity to grab one of them, but who would I drop? My bench is in the image above. Most likely candidates are Rishard Matthews, Njoku or Michel (though can't see how either of the other rookies have greater value than Sony on the Pats).
Any thoughts @FF_Contrarian @hrr5010 @cort @hba24 et al?
#15 By: Dennis, September 8th, 2018 11:53
i have dropped Rishard in this exact scenario a couple times because of comparable options to him on the FA list. i think DJ moore paul richardson usually on of D. Parker or Stills and usually Wilson, Kirk and Boyd are on waivers. matthews seems replaceable to me in a pinch without big time upside. dion lewis, walker, taylor, sharpe, davis now in the fold for who knows how many pts
one could make a counter argument and say u need an injury to hyde.duke or Barber to get big upside from Rojo chubb so why not grab Chase edmonds or buck allen, and thats a decent point. but, RoJo and Chubb were just exceptional talents, worthy of perhaps being drafted in the late first round of the real draft. from what i saw i liked guys like royce rojo chubb better than the backs the seahawks and patriots drafted
#16 By: Shawn Siegele , September 9th, 2018 01:18
I like grabbing both of those guys. I'd probably drop Rishard, and I think Grant is a potential drop as well. I like him and we've written about him a lot, but I still think Jones and Chubb are Round 10/11 guys, whereas Grant is more of a Round 13/14 guy.
#17 By: William Russell, September 9th, 2018 02:30
@FF_Contrarian @jollyg804 thanks, both. I dropped Rishard for Chubb already but Grant is already gone because I had no D/ST rostered.
RoJo won't clear waivers until next wk, so I could potentially grab him then. That said I'm now at 6 x WR & 6 x RB, so I prefer not to move away from that balance given that we start 3 WR, 2 RB + 2 Flex and I often go 5 x WR.

Bro My teams that were relying on fuller r Weak at that last flex. I’m alternating between P Richardson, stills, mike Williams, d. Moore. Gio - have a couple favorites there?
