Love the forum - y’all are some great resources! One more item to settle.
Catches the ball.
If he ever gets into the end zone more he could have an all-time season.
He stared slow last year.
He’s suffered from injuries before.
Has a lot of touches and RBs are fragile.
I have the #4 pick in a .7 ppr league.
-Worried that these 3 targets Gurley, AB, DJ go off the board.
-Already have a lot of Kamara and looking to diversify.
Bell is probably a no brainer at 4 for most but I’m slightly concerned we all are assuming he reports and life is peachy. Is it possible he holds out into regular season? Might be riskier than we think OR am I over thinking this?
Appreciate any/all input thanks!

I haven't seen Bell go outside top 2, so I wouldn't worry too much. Nor have I seen AB in the top 3. But DJ did fall to 6 in one draft. So I would think one of AB, DJ, or Zeke would be there at 4. And if Bell is there, then grab him and Conner.

As I understand it, the Steelers can't offer Bell a long-term deal at this point, so any holdout would be purely punitive to send a message to the Steelers/NFL about not giving him the new deal he wanted. And it would cost him almost $1m a week. So it's not that likely, but Bell remains risky because you can't forget he has multiple drug-related suspensions, and if anything happens (like with Rico Gathers getting a misdemeanor possession charge), he could miss the season. Add in the ever-present injury risk, and the fact that he has a new OC and relies on heavy targets for his elite value, and you can't at all be blamed for passing on Bell when all the other options are good ones.
Since you play in many leagues, I don't think having some exposure to Bell is a bad idea, but if there are other top players that you don't have rostered much, it's not overthinking it to pivot to them. AB is a pretty likely candidate to fall to you.

Agree with @mateoloco and @devinmci, (although I do think a Gurley, Johnson, Brown start is possible).
Bell is probably going to look better than anyone in Expected Points, so it's realistic to even have him at 1 overall. The concerns you mentioned lead me to prefer someone else in the first 3, but not necessarily at 4, even though Brown is arguably undervalued too.
It's tough when Gurley, Elliott, Johnson are the first three, because Bell and Brown are difficult to choose between.

i just did a draft thats 0.5 ppr 2 flx and also .5 pt for a first down either rushing or receiving. so gurley outscored brown by about 100 in that format last year. but i still took brown overall bell at the 3rd pick overall. it may not be an ideal format for zerorb but i did feel nervous of bell overall. from drugs to hold outs to concussions to knees, to hernias to ankles. hes had a lot.
what do u think of that strategy?

@JollyG804 I like all these players, but both kerryon and penny in the 5/6 is risking a slow start, depending on your starting lineup reqs. i might've preferred dion or jamaal if possible, to not be quite so behind the 8 ball early, given that you are well stocked with zrb targets overall. are you starting breida/ekeler week 1, or are you going to gamble on one of the rookies out of the gate?

i wish, but jamaal and dion went in the 5th. i picked penny over Ingram, morris, thompson, powell, sony, then i took breida and Aaron Jones over tarik, duke, and mack. in a pts for 1st downs format i preferred more upside than the cohen, duke types tho maybe there was a good argument for mack but he was hurt.
planning on starting kerryon and breida.
what u think Devin? riddick is a FA right now, could start him too but would have to cut chubb or ekeler.

Just saw Bell go #9 in the FFPC main event in my league. That seems kind of late?

I would've taken mack or tarik over jones probably. i'm higher on mack than most ppl. but that wouldn't necessarily help with your week 1 lineup.
i wouldn't cut chubb or ekeler. riddick is tough . . . in .5 he's limited with all those RBs, at least until we understand the usage better.

Bell is even tougher to value now, you’d better hope you get Conner too if you’re drafting him. It looks more likely that he’s out the first 10 weeks than not at this point. And even if he shows up then will he be out of shape? Will the Steelers put him in right away?
