when will projections and the draft optimizer from the past be active on the website?

Hey @JLattierre, we're working on upgrades to the draft optimizer that will include some elements of the tool and improve other functionality. In concert with that, we have the FFDraftPrep tools that improve your ability to create custom projections and use them in realistic mock draft scenarios to provide the best preparation available.
If you haven't checked out the Projection Machine and Draft Dashboard, it's fantastic. I strongly recommend it.

Thanks I appreciate the response, will look forward to the updates. I have checked out the tools, they are awesome although I only have access to excel at work so the web apps are helpful also.

With drafts approaching I was curious on the status of these tools, thanks.

Earlier in the summer it was said the projections would still be coming but at this point, I have to believe that Dave's are the only ones which will be made available. The projection wizard and cheat sheet optimizer was a very good tool, and I'm a bit disappointed to see it go. For an analytical site, I think the justification for tiers over projections is a bit week. While projections have limitations, I can apply VOR numbers and equate equivalent values across positions. What is a tier 1 Qb worth relative to a WR, or RB? How's it change based on scoring? If I have 3 WR, 2 flex in PPR vs 2 WR and one flex in std scoring, how much do I adjust? Obviously, I can change the percentages on the draft dashboard, but without knowing how it adjusts things internally, I'm just guessing numbers. Obviously, we have been given a tool to generate projections but Fantasy isn't a job for me so finding the time to do projections is difficult.

Hey @Badger, we have complete projections available for you. We also have complete historical distribution scores at RB and WR.
I definitely appreciate what you're saying in terms of the Optimizer. It's a fantastic tool, and it will be back in the future. But I also think the Draft Dashboard does a lot of things that the Optimizer didn't, including help you develop a lot of different lineups with different assumptions, different ADP, and different approaches by your opponent.
I do agree with the value of projections - that's why we have them - but I do prefer the tiers, because projections tend to be wildly inaccurate. That's one of the reasons using the PM tool itself is so valuable. The process of working through the teams and understanding what elements are going to lead to certain outcomes is much more valuable than single numbers. That's one of the reasons why the Sim Scores in the Fantasy Stat Explorer are so valuable (and one of many reasons the Fantasy Stat Explorer has been such a big development for us).
But I'm certainly sympathetic to the fact that many don't have that time. That's why we write all of the articles on projecting the individual teams and have different types of tools available.
As we continue to build out the tools and the site, we'll have additions and subtractions. Sometimes the subtractions will be added back again in a different form. We have some exciting plans for the app version of the PM for 2019.
When we replace some of the tools with different and upgraded options, they won't always do everything the previous version did, but the overall product will be enhanced and improved (which is one of the reasons the FFDraftPrep tools have been greeted with so much enthusiasm).
As we go forward, I hope you'll generally be much more excited about the additions than disappointed in what we replace, and certainly, when you have concerns definitely continue to voice them.
