Excellent article. Comes at the perfect as we finalize our draft boards. The case for Landry is insanely strong and would’ve never considered him there until now. However I gotta ask in round 3...Landry > Diggs?

@FF_Contrarian Great read. Were there any players you strongly considered in certain rounds instead of the ones you ultimately chose. Like Keenan Allen instead of Gronk in R2, Diggs instead of Landry in R3 (Landry seems to go later in non-expert leagues), Sammy Watkins in R5/6, Njoku in R10? I like both Landy and Njoku this year, but am hesitant to own multiple players on a team like the Browns. Plus you mentioned Duke in your ZeroRB countdown, and he's a target hog in his own right. Thoughts on how these guys might cannibalize each other, and owning multiple players on what is expected to be a bad team with a bad head coach?

@FF_Fiend Thanks, I appreciate that. It was a fun one to write. I probably grab Diggs early in Round 3 and Landry late in Round 3, just to balance the teams, since it's usually difficult to get both. Still lean Diggs - he's going to have a monster year - but Landry is safer and criminally undervalued.
@mschoenn3 Thank you. And there were a few other players I considered, especially in Round 2, where Davante Adams and Christian McCaffrey have strong cases. After emerging in 2016 and managing a solid 2017 with Hundley, Adams looks ready to have the kind of season that DeAndre Hopkins had last year. The targets, the QB play, and the extreme TD upside are all there.
McCaffrey has such a high floor and drafters don't seem to be giving him credit for the possibility of a Marshall Faulk-like season. (Faulk scored an almost unbelievable 30 PPG in 2001. I'm not predicting that, but I also don't see why McCaffrey can't end up right with the top guys.)
I like the guys you mention. Watkins is just so intriguing. I've got a lot of Mahomes, since he's a less expensive way to play the KC offense and QBs, while a dime a dozen, will still win leagues with big seasons.
That's a good question on Landry/Duke. We dug into it in a little more detail in the Zero RB Candidates thread.

I'm picking at the 1.04 and wanted to know if I should trade back to land Hunt or should i stay. I know the big 3 (Gurley, Bell, DJ) is going to be off the board.
Who would you go with at the 1.04 in a HPPR?

I like moving back there. I also like taking Antonio Brown. He gives you a huge advantage at WR in HPPR.

Hey @FF_Contrarian - hoping to probe a bit re: just how much you like Landry.
Without regard to cost/ADP, would you prefer Landry or Mike Evans (1pt PPR)?
The reason I ask is because I am considering a trade (in a keep-7 keeper league) where I deal Dalvin Cook and Evans for McCaffrey and Landry. My gut is saying to do it, even though I know I am losing out on "value". (I just worry about Cook's volume.) Would super duper appreciate your thoughts!
Would also be curious to hear from @ndutton13 @Cort about Landry, a guy they have both written up recently, in this context.

I love that deal @jesseross99.
If Mayfield does turn into Drew Brees Lite, as some of the analytics suggest he might, then you can make an argument for Landry as a true WR1 in dynasty/keeper leagues. Perhaps not at Evans' level, but not far off, imo.
And give me CMC > Cook any day, please.

I agree with @Cort.
I'd really try to get something extra since both Evans and Cook have higher ADPs. Perhaps a 2020 1st or multiple 2019 seconds, something like that.
But I do still prefer both Landry to Evans and CMC to Cook. (By very small margins, though, and it's certainly a trade you could lose.)

Thanks so much @Cort and @FF_Contrarian. Getting your guys' opinion like this on the forums is worth the 'viz subscription price in and of itself.
(For your interest only: It is an auction keeper league, so no future picks. I would be adding 1% of salary in making this deal; in a vacuum I could extract another piece but there's just nothing that makes sense given the rosters in question. What I may do given the ADPs is try to make a deal immediately after the auction once rosters are more filled out.)

That's really awesome to hear my man! Happy to help, and gl gl this season.

How often do you update your rankings on the redraft rankings page?
I see you have Gronk and Kelce in the same tier. Can you elaborate on how you feel about Kelce?
Would you consider drafting Gronk in the 2nd and Kelce in the 3rd over Landry? I do like flexing an elite TE especially if you view him as being in the same tier as Gronk.
Thanks for your time!

I think I updated after the first preseason game, and I'll likely do another quick tweak after this weekend.
It's possible the move to Mahomes unlocks even more Kelce's ability, although there's obviously some risk with the inexperienced QB as well. I do like using the double-elite TE in some circumstances. And I tend to take the TE if the other positions are pretty flat according to my board. In that situation, I probably wouldn't select Kelce over Landry unless it was a situation where Kelce was at approximately 3.10 and you thought you could likely get Landry at 4.03.
Last night I took Diggs over Gronk and Landry over Kelce, and both were difficult decisions, but it turned out well with Ertz still available at 5.03.

I wound up with either Mariota or Mahomes on my team in almost each draft for dirt cheap. How would you want to play that heading into week 1? do u love one guy enough to start him a lot or would u want to split qb play more 50-50? 80-20 one way? i see Dalton on waivers quite a bit too who opens vs indy
-i also wound up with OJ howard almost each time i couldnt snag gronk, kelce or ertz.
but i see guys like kittle, vance, brate ebron, cook on WW. and im a bit mindful of being overweight on the breakout candidate in a competitive target field with TB. how would u play this?
