Can someone please explain to me why Stefon Diggs is getting such criminal underusage? He's averaging 0.52 reFPOEPA, but he's only getting 10.9 reEP per game. He's been playing at least as well as Thielen (I'd argue better), but he's getting only about 2/3 of the reEP of Adam Thielen. I guess coaches get really upset at players who get hurt and have to miss games...
Also, just watching Diggs, you see how good he is. He's a terrific player, and I'm sure he'd be amazing if he got another 3-5 targets per game.
Just frustrating watching a great player get severely underutilized.

Perhaps because he's a dick?
I don't know but I've always heard the rumor that the reason he lasted to the 5th round in the first place is ever since his freshman year in college, he could barely fit his head into his helmet. Giant Ego. Maybe the Vikings organization has reason to not like the dude?
That's all speculation. White boy wide receiver has played well. I'll give him that. The combo of Case Keenum and Thielen (both undrafted) is the most out-of-nowhere QB-WR1 combo ever, this side of Romo and Miles Austin.
I've got Diggs on 2 of 4 teams so I feel your pain.

Interesting. Though "he's a dick" would describe many of the great WRs throughout history...

LMAO. That is so very true. But rumor has it, his dickish attitude (and injury history) caused him to drop further in the draft than rightfully deserved. Guys with similar draft grades and skill sets (Lockett, Crowder, etc.) were drafter at least a round earlier. Usually for talent to drop multiple rounds, it requires hitting a woman. Diggs isn't that. Just someone who is overtly cocky, even for a position known for overtly cocky characters.
I heard this on XM radio so it's gotta be 100% true. There was a story that went with it but don't recall it. The gist was after his highly successful freshman year, he let success go to his head in a big way. Based on that story, I suspect this is more of a Stefon Diggs problem than a Vikings management problem.
None of that matters now. I've got the dickhead on 2 of my teams and in one league, he's a flex, at most. The other league requires 3 wide receivers and has a short bench, strongly considering dropping him for Marquise Goodwin, because I don't think I can trust him.

I’m not sure you’ll find much support for that narrative on the RV boards lol. Really doesn’t make much sense.
How does that explain the fact that he was the overall WR1 after he first month? He was nice then but turned into a dick?
I’m not sure what the explanation is, but I’d guess fact that Theilen is awesome, The Vikes are usually in a positive game script, and his soft tissue issue may be nagging are bigger factors than his personality traits.

I'm a Vikings fan and follow the team fairly closely. There haven't been any stories about Diggs coming out that I've seen about any kind of attitude problem with him. That isn't to say it's definitely not true, but you'd think that something like this would have come out last year, when the team was struggling and Diggs play declined (likely due to injury).

ive found him likable just following him. certainly compared to other divas. Im with cort, i dont see how the narrative meshes with the success hes seen with 3 different QBs now.

I don't mean to malign Stefon. Just relaying what I heard. His snap counts (~95% last week) suggests he's over his injuries. While's he's now 3rd on the totem pole for targets could be a multitude of reasons. I just threw out the rumor for peanut gallery's sake.

Haha. Thanks for all the feedback, folks. My honest guess is that Thielen has been playing great, the Vikings have been winning, and the coaches haven't felt the need to change things up much. If Thielen were to disappear for one reason or another, I'd expect Diggs to get a ton of targets and blow up. In the meanwhile, I'll have to settle for watching the Vikings drive the Acura for their errands and take the McLaren out only for a few weekend joyrides.

Also, one thing to note is that Diggs seemingly takes the opposing teams #1 CB on a week to week basis, which frees up Thielen to absolutely torch the opposing teams #2/slot CB.

Id say this just has more to with being injured and Keemun and thielen developing chemistry. Also diggs moving from the slot took away a lot of the quicker patterns that Keemun probably just sees and throws because thielen is really good(and open). He’s not waiting for diggs route to develop because the balls lready gone. Truth is this team is really good, they don’t really have to lean on any one part of the offense and the D keeps them in positive game scripts
