Someone has just traded away Saquon (non-keeper) for Jared Goff (keeper) in my league. I have voted against for the first time ever, because it just feels like an egregiously bad trade that massively benefits one guy (who already has a great roster).
Am I overreacting, or is this not just a ridiculous trade? It's a one for one, with a QB (admittedly keepable) being sufficient to get the 2nd best RB in the whole damn league.
I am so annoyed, all my efforts to trade for an RB1 are 2for1 at least and the vast majority get rejected outright.

I hate to say it, but as obnoxious of a trade as this is, it sounds legit. That's the downside of keeper leagues: people will make insanely imbalanced trades to acquire keepers once they are out of contention because the keeper structure encourages them to do so. You get some future value for no real value this season. That's why one of my major keeper league strategies is to try to stockpile as many keepers as possible by mid-season, so I can leverage those for elite players late in the season. It happens almost every year in my keeper leagues.
The only way to fight it is to join the arms race: decide if you are gunning for keepers or win-now players and pay up accordingly.

I agree with @howfantasy on this. In a keeper league you need to look for opportunities to drop players to non-contenders to upgrade your roster now and theirs later.

@HowFantasy @PlanetX thanks both for your thoughts. I've cooled down a bit now and realised that what you say above is right. It just feels a bit lopsided to me.
I would have considered moving Saquon if I owned him, just not in a 1for1 with a QB! Surely the guy in need of keepable QB production could have used the Saquon carrot to land himself a startable RB/WR, too? It's hard to trade in this league, though I have done 3 this season to get Sammy, Lindsay, who I flipped for Dalvin...
It's gone through anyway, so not much I can do. The trade deadline has also now passed, so it's me and waivers vs the world now.
I think I'm just reacting to a bit of a tough situation in my league, where I'm 6-4 and possibly heading for a playoff spot, but there are 3 teams (arguably 4) that I think need to have a serious off day in order for me to stand a chance of beating them.
Team in 1st: Brees, Mike Thomas, Zeke, Hunt, Ertz
Team in 2nd: Ryan, Gurley, Kamara, Ingram, James White, Julio
Team in 5th: Mahomes, Saquon, Melvin Gordon, CMac, Mack, Kupp, Landry
Me: Rodgers, Keenan, Boyd, JuJu, Chubb, Dalvin, Sony, Sammy, Sutton, Funchess
My team's good, but I don't think I have the firepower to take down the top guys. Rant over!

You never know... Sometimes the big names don't outperform up-and-comers. Chubb and Cook could be poised to take the second half of the season by storm. And Keenan could explode, too. Michel could be solid.
This week I took down the top scoring (and top ranked) team in my league, in part on the strength of Chubb and in part because he had a weak week.
You never know!
I do know that I instantly regret not trading Diggs (and the rights to keep him for cheap next year) for Zeke and Amari Cooper... That could have won me the league. As is, I'm still in contention, but still...

Wanted to finish up with an update on my season. I finished 3rd, having lost marginally in my semi final. A tough 6pt loss to the eventual winner. My team bounced back this week with the highest score of the season, which would have been sufficient to win had I made it to the final.
A really enjoyable and satisfying season, despite falling at the penultimate hurdle. I've been left with a tough choice for my 2019 keepers (JuJu, Chubb & Boyd are bankers, but Samuel and Robby are also both keepable).
Possibly most satisfying of all, I took down the guy who did the lopsided trade to get Saquon twice in the final 3 weeks. Once in the penultimate week of the regular season and then in the first round of the playoffs. Which was nice.
I really must thank all the RV staff and the community here. This is my third year subscribing and I'm getting better and better each season. I echo another poster @joenamathscoat in that while I love the site, I really hope that my league mates don't discover it anytime soon!
