The most important part of in-season roster management is working the waiver wire. Here are my thoughts regarding Week 1, 2017. The parameters and assumptions of this weekly waiver wire advice column can be found in the preseason introduction. I also made a few pre-Week 1 suggestions in that column, which we’ll revisit here briefly,…

Would you drop Vereen or Chris Thompson for Sims? Went zero Rb if that matters.
#3 By: CK, September 4th, 2017 18:46
Probably not. Whp are your other running backs?

i was curious about this too.....my main consideration is winning week 1 unless u think sims is a great bet to help weeks 1-3 over the others....how would u rank Sims Vereen Thompson Gio Duke J for either Hppr or PPR....im making these decisions in both as theyre often available in 10 or 12 team HPPR leagues....
others are Tevin and woodhead plugged in wherever i can and guys like D. Henry, Foreman, C, West, burkhead, Kamara on my bench for upside at later dates

Probably duke, gio, sims, vereen, Thompson, but the last three are very close in my mind. In this case it's probably a lateral move, so I'd maybe just stay put.

1pt PPR. Keeper league. I know rotoviz loves them some Britt, but would you drop Hunter Henry, Britt, or Kevin White for Jamaal Charles? Britt and White are my 5th and 6th WR. Henry is my second TE after Jimmy Graham.

My RBs are Bell, M Lynch, D Martin, and Tevin Coleman.

Get Kevin white outta there
#9 By: CK, September 4th, 2017 20:25
Agreed. White is the cut.

I appreciate the help. Was wanting to see how things shake out after Meredith went down.

Last Roster Spot churn maximization, week 1... If you want some more background on what/why, see my brief explanation here: http://boards.rotoviz.com/t/fantasy-football-waiver-wire-advice-2017-introduction/8965/4?u=fezic
TL:DR - in most leagues you can use an end-of-bench spot for churn THROUGHOUT a given week's slate of games, and in most weeks get 5 FA/waiver dart throws with that same spot instead of just one per week.
Obviously if you prefer to use that spot on one guy (like Jamaal Charles) to make sure nobody else picks him up before you would later in the weekend, that's not a bad decision at all. But for my teams that I don't have that, here are the few that I'm looking at for this week.
These are guys you might expect to see an expanded role, uncertain trajectory or would benefit greatly from an injury ahead of them, and you're trying to grab them one week ahead of when their FAAB price would increase. As noted in my previous explanation, the idea here is to cycle players through your end of roster spot(s) throughout the week's slate of games to get a shot at up to 5 players per week.
Thursday (KC at NE) - Amendola. You could also grab Dwayne Allen to backstop your Gronk or get a big payoff in the case of him getting injured. I'd consider doing that in any given week when you have a roster spot don't have a great option at a specific time slot.
Sunday 1:00pm (too many games to list). RB - DeAngelo Williams (the real Bell handcuff), Charles Sims, Tyler Boyd, Austin Hooper, Julius Thomas, CJ Fiedorowicz
Sunday 4:00pm (IND @ CAR, SEA @ GB, CAR @ CHI) - Kendall Wright, Marlon Mack, Tyler Lockett, Brett Hundley
SNF (NYG @ DAL) - Cole Beasley, Sterling Shepard
MNF 7:10pm (NO @ MIN) - Bradford, Fleener... Hopefully you have found someone by this point that you want to hold onto.
MNF 10:20pm (LAC @ DEN) - Jamaal Charles

I know I didn't list him above, but I had a "hit" on Tarik Cohen using this approach... Zero RB roster on which I dropped McFadden on Friday to churn the roster spot

Confused on how you can churn guys throughout the week with one roster spot. Are you just dropping them minutes before kickoff for another guy with a later game? Wouldn't this still cause you to spend FAAB next week?
#15 By: Regression From the Mean, September 11th, 2017 13:42
In all of my leagues, bench players can be dropped at any time. So if someone during a 1:00 game doesn't "hit" I drop that guy before the 4:00 games start and pick up someone playing in that next slate of games. In this instance it was Tarik Cohen at the 1:00 games so after seeing his performance I obviously kept him instead of picking up my next best candidate for the late games. Make sense?

and because waivers ran already for the week, no FAAB required to pick the guys up -- they only lock onto waivers at the start of their game

@fezic gotcha. Unfortunately my leagues don't work like that but certainly a great strategy in leagues that do
