Figured I'd get this thread going this week.
I am looking to cruise to a comfortable win this week, but I'm concerned about my depth. I don't want to overreact to 1 week, but yesterday I watched Philip Lindsay take what seems to be the more valuable role in the Denver backfield committee, which would be a huge blow to my Freeman pick. I'm currently watching Enunwa make Robby Anderson a seemingly distant #2 option in the Jets offense, and Matt Brieda, while running tough, wasn't really garnering targets like I would have hoped.
Self-pitying missive aside lol, here is my roster, and here is what is available on the wire. Waivers roll every week fyi. 1 PPR 2RB/2WR/2FLEX/1TE.
RB: DJ, Drake, Freeman, Brieda, Mack
WR: Allen, Diggs, Agholor, Anderson, Fuller, Stills
On paper, I feel it's a strong squad, but looking around at various touch splits, as well as Josh Hermsmeyer's Airyards data, I'm concerned.
Some of the available notable players on the wire:
RBs: Lindsay, Powell, Yeldon
WRs: Dede Westbrook, Ryan Grant, Brandon Marshall
Thoughts? Even though I won, feeling like I can't rest on my laurels, need to make some moves. Appreciate the help!

Even as a Royce owner, I would prioritize Yeldon over Lindsay personally, but looking at your roster, I might first try to pull a 2-for-1 trade to create a roster spot. Barring that, I'd drop Mack.
Simple question from my end, looking to replace Delanie at TE:
Jonnu or Cook?
The amount of targets Cook got was certainly tempting, but haven't we seen this movie before? Should I go with the "safer" option and stay with the Titans offense?
I doubt anyone else is looking for a TE at this point, since the Greg Olsen owner also drafted Engram, so I can probably get whichever one I want. But just in case, I plan to also put in a bid of 1 for OJ Howard just to make sure I get someone.

If that’s your complete roster I wouldn’t want to drop any of those players. Lindsay and Grant are of interest but don’t see a sure drop on your roster unless there are others unlisted. Good problem to have

I have Christian Kirk sitting on my Bench, would you drop him for Jonnu Smith? I am starting Doyle, but a little worried about Ebron there in Indy.

I also have Doyle. IMO you should only roster one of those tier 3 type TEs at a time. So the question I’m asking myself is should I drop Doyle for Smith.
Probably going to keep the safer play in Doyle. They should throw plenty this year.

i think you're fine at wr but i would like to get any of those RBs. is your entire roster there? i wouldn't mind dropping breida.
#7 By: Adam Eraky, September 11th, 2018 13:09
That is my entire roster, minus my defense who I stream (not well apparently, as I went with the Saints lol).
Additionally, now that it is confirmed that Walker is on IR, Jonnu Smith is an intriguing option. Which end of bench player would you prefer (I can demote one player to the Taxi Squad): Chubb, Smith, or RoJo?

I'm in a league that is very TD dependent since 1pt/20 yards rushing/receiving. 1pt/50 passing. Only 8 teams so everyone is stacked
I have Thielen, Ertz, Landry, Funchess, and Marvin Jones. WR and TE are interchangeable. I can start 3. Jones has me worried with Golloday.
Possible waiver wire additions are Alison, Kupp, Dorsett, Marshall and Enunwa. Do I pull the trigger to try and get a bigger bodied WR like Enunwa or Marshall? Non PPR so it basically is all about the TDs.
Reed is also available.

What % of FAAB to spend on Kittle in 12 team TE Premium 1.5 PPR league? I have Gronk, but thinking about putting in a healthy bid for Kittle to flex him. RBs only get 0.5 PPR.
Also how much to bid on Lindsay, Yeldon, Geronimo, Enunwa types?
WRs OBJ, Hill, Cooper, Goodwin
RBs Ingram, Coleman, Barber, Mack, Kerryon

@FF_Contrarian obviously you feel great about Mahommes ROS outlook. How much would you bid in FAAB for him if I currently have Big Ben (favorable schedule next few weeks).

Whom would you rather have: Chris Godwin or Marlon Mack (PPR)? Either would be an end-of-bench stash. I don't love Mack, especially since the Colts RBs could end up being a three-way committee (or worse). But Godwin has plenty of target competition on a team that'll be up-and-down all year.

I like Godwin alot... Especially if Jackson is off
#13 By: Eric, September 12th, 2018 00:20
For me, Chris Godwin all day in PPR.

No I don’t think you should add Jonnu if you have Doyle. Agree with @FantasyNerd you don’t want to carry more than one. The carrying cost of him is too high right now. Backfill the zero RB types and WRs coming into volume.

@Badger I like Kupp there. Also Enunwa and Dorsett. Those would be my three targets.
@thickfreakness Not sure how much FAAB without playing in the league myself, but I'd certainly try to get him if TE is 1.5 and RB only .5. I'd be conservative but active on LIndsay, Yeldon, Enunwa. Not much personal interest in Geronimo.
@FantasyNerd Typically QBs don't go for a lot in my formats, but I could see 20%. But I expect Ben to end up with a big season. JuJu is just too much for defenses on top of Brown.
@HowFantasy I agree with the others in that Godwin is my favorite breakout guy this year. But Mack is in such a great position to be successful as long as he isn't absolutely awful. (And/or injured.) Depends a little on what position you need.
#16 By: How, September 12th, 2018 07:34
Thank you for the input, @IITrollface, @PlanetX, and @FF_Contrarian! Godwin is mine. At this point in the season, I'd almost rather try to collect players breaking out without regard to my positional need. I'm worried that Mack's hamstring will limit him for a long time. I also just don't think Mack is a great player. He has the physical tools, but I worry he has no nuance in his game.
Now, should I try to grab Mack in exchange for Duke Johnson? Johnson's usage really worries me with Tyrod scrambling through the backfield (though Duke still had 6 targets in that opener).

One player being overlooked in WW this week seems to be Dante Pettis. We don't know if or how long Goodwin is out and Pettis could do well here in that time. If you're in need of a WR with some opportunity for cheap this is an option.

Just a reminder that after week 1 last year, we had the same concerns about Duke Johnson. Deshone Kizer is also a running QB and last year Duke had 0 rushes, 5 targets, and caught 2 for 20 yards. If I remember correctly, he never even lined up as RB that game, but was in the slot occasionally, and we all know that by the end of the season he was a high end RB2. That's not to say that we shouldn't be worried at all, but that one game in bad weather is a very small sample.
Here's Ben Gretch's Stealing Signals from Week 2 last season on Duke:
"Snap Notes: Duke Johnson – 76%
Duke Johnson is apparently a full-time slot receiver now. We heard that was a possibility in the preseason, but it’s still a little wild. How fantasy sites will react re: eligibility remains to be seen, but he did see five targets, one off team leader Corey Coleman’s six."

To add to Pettis - another guy to keep an eye on is Jakeem Grant. He looks great out there, and led the team in targets, though he didn’t run many routes. He was filling in for Devante Parker so it remains to be seen how it’ll all shake out, but should he get more playing time he is pretty electric.

Great point about Duke Johnson. I'm going to stick with him for awhile.
In other news, Funchess was just dropped in my league. I think he's in for a solid workload (especially in the red zone) with Olsen down, right? I just don't know whom to drop for him, especially since it's a keeper league (and I think some of my guys have higher long-term upside). Potential drops for Funions below:
- Nick Chubb
- D.J. Moore
- Aaron Jones
- Chris Godwin
- Nelson Agholor
I think I'd drop Jones, but he's looking better than ever now with neither Jamaal Williams, nor Ty Montgomery doing much to seize the lead back role in that offense in week 1.
I might try to do a 2-for-1 trade in the next day to make space on my roster.
